I became concerned about the actual dependability of these little rigs reading through the posts on this forum. However I think I have picked up on a trend, its the modified units that have issues. Am I correct? Not the least bit interested in squeezing extra HP or speed capability out of this unit if I get one. My question are the unmolested units reliable? Who has had good service with their STOCK unit? What issues are encountered often?

I do have a stage one tune from diesel freaks that my 2018 has had for over 5 years, besides a hard cabs cab and a heater that is the only modification mine has had since I bought it new. I do regular maintenance, and I have rarely exceeded 2k rpm’s, and the only problem I have had were the u joints on my rear drive shaft having to be replaced. It has 35k+ miles. I’m hoping, and expecting, that it will last another 10-15 years with just regular maintenance. I bought a 2023 with just a bikini top that I drive in the summer. I think they are well built. I drove jeeps for years, and these are built better for longevity than jeeps, in my opinion

Just looked at a 22 with 6500 miles. Minor dents, some rust, dirty oil, U joints shot already. Engine sound different than the 24 seems to stumble while maintaining speed. With the u joints gone, not a little click gone, at 6500 miles I have to wonder how badly the girl has been damaged. Want $13000😕

you can find one in much better shape for just a little more money, after the first of the year, some places mark down any previous year ones they have to get rid of them, also there are always several nice ones for sale on here. When I bought my second one two years ago, I preferred the old body style, but none seemed to be coming up for sale, and I found a dealer trying to get rid of his 23 inventory,so I bought my other one. Plus, a judge dismissed Fiats lawsuit against mahindra a week after I bought it, so they weren’t going to become rare after that.

So the 24s that have been setting there for over a year should be a bit negotiable at this point. I don’t mind used but abused is a roll of the dice. What is this lawsuit with Fiat you are talking about? Please tell me these rigs have zero to do with Fiat.

Mahindra was building jeeps before chrysler fiat had anything to do with jeep. The jeep labels they put on what they put out now is a disgrace. Front wheel drive transverse engines in a small suv and put a jeep sticker on it should be fraud.
I grew up with a 42 military ford and own a 77 and an 85. Those were jeeps. My 19 Roxor is as capable and will outlast anything being built now. Solid axles, diesel, square tube frame, just don't get anymore solid of a rig than that.
Went out with some sxs's the other weekend. I idled up inclines that they had to have their engines revved up to move. Went to a playground in the sand. I pulled out 7 stuck jeeps. Both different outings they were amazed at the way it got around. I do have it chipped and 10x30 tires on it, but as far as power it didn't need it in the sand or logging roads. Of course keeping up with those high powered plastic toys on clear roads was easy with the tune, but crawling around in low range a stock rig would have been fine.

Shortly after the war Mahindra was importing Willys Jeep components and completing assembly in Bombay, it progressed from there. By 1968 they were making complete Jeeps with everything manufactured in India. If I understand correctly they have a model for sale in India that is pretty much a CJ5. If they made the Roxor road legal from the factory I suspect the waiting list would be pretty long when first released. Is the 24 a better rig than the 22? From what I saw I would say yes but to be fair the 22 was owned by someone who didn’t give it the respect it deserved and will take some love to bring her back up. So $4000 more for the 24 seems worth it🤷🏻‍♂️

Thinking about what is likely to go wrong with a Roxer that was abused for 6500 miles with poor maintenance. I would think the little turbo might be stressed. How much to replace the turbo if she goes out?

I'm wondering how you think 6500 miles and poor maintenance can even be correlated... 6500 miles is one oil change lol. The turbo should be basically new.

From the look of the oil and the overall condition of the rig she got little if any actual maintenance. 6500 miles Skip the break-in oil change at 300 and just run it to 6500 on original oil.…that's at least two. It would have had at least 4 if it was mine given the time period involved. I’d say the turbo has been subjected to beyond severe duty. This rig looks like it has had 10 years of hard use in its 3 years of life. Turbos do not play well with dirty oil. Under the hood looks like the Gobi desert, thick red dust covers everything.
I think a little concern over the future reliability of the turbo is warranted. Given that turbos are not forgiving of dirty spent oil I wanted to understand what it would cost if she dies early.

It’s a diesel….. the oil is always gonna be black after 5 minutes of running lol. You sure it hadn’t had an oil change? Got a pic of the rig? I haven’t seen too many issues with any of these roxors. Mainly starters going bad (and having problems finding replacements, but diesel freak has them), and fuel filters are the main things.

Have a-bit of experience with diesels used to power equipment offshore, this isn’t yesterdays oil. Maybe too concerned given the lack of love given to the rig overall. Trying to decide if saving 5 grand is worth the gamble on this poor girl or getting NOS. Nobody gives me money so I am kinda weird about wasting it😉

ATV trader shows a 2023 with under 200 miles, some nice mods in Sebastian FL for 14k. Also a new 2023 in Mineral Wells Va for 14k. Are these prices accurate?

I will check my mileage but last I checked on my 2024 Oil still looked good. I have changed it once but the dealer said he did the break in change for me but I didn't count on that. I don't have high miles its off road and sometimes just around town,
