Any experience with ontherox bolt on receiver hitch for the Roxor?

I’m wondering if anyone has any towing experience with the ontherox Bolt on Receiver Hitch? Would you recommend?

InfRoxor, I just put mine on about two weeks ago. I went with that setup because it meets the tongue weight and towing capacity for the Roxor. There were some others that I looked at that cut those capacities down.

Also, there are four predrilled holes that I installed larger bolts in then what was provided with the hitch.

I have not towed with it as of yet.

that looks good! Think it’s support a bike carrier w/ 2 dirtbikes? My current setup is just a ball, I need a receiver.

The OEM capacities are 349 lb tongue weight and 3490 lb trailer weight.

I’d probably be riiiight at 350 with carrier and the two electric dirt bikes. Mahindra probably underrrates it a bit anyway. Appreciate it usmc!

I went with the Cecco Farm Bumper on mine. I have a GI Jeep Trailer, and I use my set up rougher than just hauling Dirt Bikes around. I wanted my Bumper tied to the frame solidly.
If USMC put that receiver hitch on his Roxor, I am 100% sure that he did plenty of research, and was sure it would work fine for his application before ordering it.
One thing I would keep in mind, do not bounce that set up around roughly with maximum weight on it. Being right at the maximum rated weight you will probably be ok if you do not get rough with it.

Bob, I even checked the shear and tension specs for the bolts that were supplied. But I do like the thought of the bolting to the side of the frame. But as you stated, it's the application.

Hey USMC, I see a Florida tag on your machine…are you able to register w/o too much trouble in Florida? I’m street legal here (PR). My Roxor is a EDD, but I can’t compare my experiences with most folks. I’m on a little island off the coast of the main island. Roxor is perfect here, diesel always available, not so much for gasoline. Don’t need heat!

I originally registered it in Michigan to get a full street Tag, not a motorcycle Tag. The manufacturer's VIN designates the Roxor as a side x side, Florida will not license a side x side for the street. Here in Florida, you need to have the unit licensed before bringing it in to get a like license for Florida. Michigan gave me an alternate VIN because in their eyes they view the Roxor as an assembled vehicle since you need to add a DOT windshield, wipers, and turn signals before they license it. Florida went by the Michigan VIN and not the manufacturers.

My process was very easy; I just needed to get my PIP insurance for street use (I got my PIP Insurance through USAA). The DMV Supervisor told me, "It has four wheels, it looks like a jeep so we will license it as such." It was funny because she also told me that the bad news was that I would not be able to put a motorcycle TAG on the Roxor.

So you were able to do an end run around the bureaucratic BS. How would one go about getting it licensed in Florida without getting it licensed in another state and then submitting it to Florida? How much money and how many hurdles to jump?Considering getting a Roxor but not if it’s not reasonable to get it road legal.

Hey RAL357,

You will need to get the Roxor licensed out of state before licensing in Florida. Below is what Florida states about side-by-sides.

"Florida law states that all-terrain vehicles (ATV) may only be operated on unpaved roadways where the posted speed limit is less than 35 MPH and only during daylight hours. However, a county may choose to be exempt from this. Or alternatively, a county may, designate certain unpaved roadways where an ATV may be operated during the daytime as long as each such designated roadway has a posted speed limit of less than 35 miles per hour and is appropriately marked to indicate permissible ATV use.

Off-Highway and All-Terrain Vehicles are titled, but not registered, and are not required to be insured with PIP and PDL coverage. To title an ATV, submit a completed form HSMV 82040 to a Motor Vehicle Service Center. (Sections 261.20, 316.2074 and 316.2123, Florida Statutes)"

The Mahindra Roxor VIN number with the third position as a "Z" designates the Roxor as a side-by-side (a.k.a., a motorcycle type of vehicle)

When Michigan titled my Roxor they gave it a new VIN which removed the side-by-side designation, so I was able to register and title it in Florida as a Jeep Type Utility Vehicle.
